    Stayed clear of coffee and had only one cup of caffeinated tea. I am still having a couple of weak cups of green tea with jasmine flowers but I figure they are weak and there's a little health benefit there I hope! Have increased my water intake a bit to compensate with the pop and am going to try going back to my old ways - warm water with lemon. I used to even cheat and just put hot water in my travel tea mug when there was about an inch of cold stuff left - just the smell and taste of the tea from the cup was enough to get me through it (however, that was a plastic travel mug - not sure how my stainless steel one will do).

    Sunday my pop intake was down a bit again - I really need to measure. Am using the slightly larger size juice glass instead of a regular drinking glass. This helps a bit - as long as I don't run back for an immediate refill lol.

    Monday I'll be making your crock pot veggie soup to go along with a whole wheat crust veggie and ham pizza and apple crisp for dessert.

    This week I'm trying to cut down on white carbs as much as possible. Will be using whole wheat or alternatives wherever I can either completely or in part. Also, to continue to cut down on pop - any hard liquor drinks will now be pressed. Also need to stock up on carbonated lime water.

    Day 6 was a much needed day of rest - still successful with the No Sugar.

    I haven't weighed myself since I started and I have yet to capture my measurements. Will definitely do that tonight!!

    Day 6 went well - all meals except dinner were the same as yesterday. Dinner was a bowl of homemade chili (had to use those beans somehow!) with 2 oz shredded chicken.
    Crockpot is empty again - time to browse some more recipes!

    Just had a post wedding brunch with the newly weds. Everybody piled in the food and I took my time, enjoyed every bite and skipped the bread and saved half the meal for later. Much more enjoyable. I did drink lots of water all weekend, club soda with lime was an excellent way to make it fancy. Glad everybody are doing so well!!!!

    Morning Mel!
    It's braai time (BBQ - for those non-South Africans, that is pronounced bry like fry) today for DGS's 12th birthday. I have no idea whether we will have burgers, chick en pieces, sticky ribs or steak - it depends on his choice. Dessert is often icecream with tubs of toppings - so I'm going to have salad before I go there and I'm taking a 2Litre bottle of Club Soda with me. Of course, I'll have a glass of wine or a bottle of beer, but it's a 25km drive each way and there's idiots out there on the roads.

    NB Cheese didn't even get a mention :)

    I'll do my best - but any damage will be contained as far as possible, and fixed during the week.

    While I'm not in the challenge per se, I definitely pay attention when people are experimenting with things like cutting out white sugar or eliminating caffeine. I know we won't all react in the same way, but I also find it can give me some good leads on things I might try to improve my health.

    Although I haven't made a conscious effort to stop eating wheat, after a careful think (lol) I believe I don't eat much wheat in a given week, let alone in a day. I'm not convinced it has made much difference to me - love cream of wheat! - but I'm going to pay more attention to those times I have wheat so I can see if there's a difference.
