It's like the toy kids play with, but with an additional sofa shaped accessory that can be plugged into the backside, don'tcha know?
Didn't make it to the gym today, but that's at least partly the fault of the gym, as it apparently closes at 6 PM on Saturday, as opposed to a 10 PM close every other day of the week. Did not realize that until about 3 PM. Since I was working on a job app, and was planning on not doing anything until I got that done, I had a tight deadline anyway. That was compounded by the site where I was trying to apply being a nightmare to navigate. Maybe it's my experience as a software tester, with a focus on usability, that made me loathe the site so much, but when the potential employer is a particular university, it would be nice if you could just type the name of that very university into your educational history, and not be told "Value not found". The field insisted that the name be entered exactly as it was found in their database, which is fair enough, except for the fact that there wasn't a consistent standard of how school names appeared in the database.
And so on and so forth. You know, how, after 15 minutes of entering details, which were already included in the uploaded resume, a phantom button press suddenly made it appear as though all that information disappeared? Yeah, that was fun. Finally did shoehorn all the details into the system, and force it to admit that the app was filed. I know I won't get this particular job, I'm applying way late in the cycle, and it's got the hallmarks of one of those that are posted with a candidate already in mind, just needing to satisfy state regulation. But I needed to get started with the process, and, as it turns out, get my basic info into the system. Hopefully the next app I throw into this particular employer is that much easier for having input my information.
I've finally rescued my dumbbells (although it sounds ludicrous to refer to 15 and 20 lb weights as such...feels like only 35 and higher poundage should be considered really dumb or something) and the 5 lb leg weights from the trunk of my car and whichever box I'd packed them in, so I will do some form of something tonight, while I watch football for the next 5 hours. Rooting for the Packers later. Lions fan though I am, 9 years of living in Wisconsin, where the Packers are a religion, that made me develop a tolerance for the green and gold.
