Gingerbread Cookies and my Girls!

Saturday, January 05, 2013

Today we made gingerbread cookies as a family activity per my oldest daughter's request. The girls and I mixed the ingredients but they wouldn't mix so I ended up kneading the dough. Then my husband had to roll out the dough because I am notoriously terrible at rolling out dough. I always end up making something that looks like Africa or India. Which I think is wonderful. Far better than a circle. But not very practical for baking purposes. We used rhino, crocodile, camel and gingerbread boy cookie cutters. I personally like the camels. Well, they are one-humped so I guess they are technically dromedaries, not camels. Here's some pictures:

I ate a camel and a rhino with a cup of coffee as a snack. I forgot how spicy gingerbread is. They were delicious.

Here are some pics of my little helpers. Aren't they sweet?

This is Lydia. She's 5.

This is Maggie. She's 2.
