I got off track during the holidays, and put back on five pounds. So, I decided that starting Jan. 2, when I went back to work, I would pay attention and eat healthier. I immediately saw changes in only three days time - lost three pounds and felt so much better - not sluggish. Then, this morning, I was just getting ready to make my breakfast when my husband came in and said he wanted to take me to breakfast. Uh oh.
Eating out has always been a problem for me, because I tend to eat most of what's on my plate. And there is no nutrition info at the restaurant we like to go to. I was was hesitant, but decided I needed to tackle this head on. We don't go out a lot, but I need to be able to control my portions - just need to say NO to too much food. So off we went.
I found something on the menu, then using the sparkpeople app on my smartphone, I was able to find something listed that was comparable to give me the nutrition info. I plugged each item into my phone, and was able to figure out what size portions I needed. I asked for a box when the waitress brought my food, and immediately took off my plate the portions I didn't need and put them in the box. Out of sight out of mind! I ate slowly, and when finished, I felt satisfied, NOT stuffed. What a great feeling! Now I have breakfast for tomorrow as well.
It's great to know that I control the food; it doesn't control me!
