So last summer preparing for our LO involved remodeling our bedroom and things got packed away. All my fitness equipment was packed away. (I was on bedrest anyway.) My two favorite pieces of fitness equipment were my iPod and my HR monitor. Well the iPod never got packed away since it has other purposes, but my HR monitor did. I loved it because it gave me the confidence to expand my physical activity. For instance, taking the kids sledding was a great physical activity and the heart rate monitor was there to track just how active I was. I think it's more of a reminder or motivator. For instance, if I go out for a walk with HR monitor I'll push myself until I'm in the zone. Without it? I'm tempted to just stroll leisurely. Today before the Vikings take on the Packers again (serious stuff here in MN), my hubby is taking me spear fishing. I'm going to strap on my heart rate monitor and see what I can get my heart up to trekking through the deep snow to the remote pond we'll be spearing on. My first time spear fishing so wish me luck. I'm hoping for a big Northern.
