South Beach Day 4

No miraculous 4-pound loss over night. But am ready for day 4. Plan on a 30-minute walk before lunch. Struggling with what to have for breakfast. Probably a scrambled egg and spinach. Maybe a tomato, too.

I've been analyzing my feedback at the end of the day here as well as on South Beach's site. I definitely have a salt problem. So, over the next few days, I plan to focus on keeping my salt in recommended ranges and see if that helps.

Lunch today will be a turkey bacon/tomato/lettuce salad. No mayo but probably a little pepper.

    I have for breakfast whatever I'd have for any meal. Farm breakfasts come to mind - fried chicken and such! I usually have bacon and eggs or sausage and eggs but once in a while its chicken thighs with deli BBQ seasoning or last night's leftover steak.

Boredom with the same old foods is the number one reason for non-compliance on low carb diets, but there's a whole world of variety as long as you let yourself think outside the box!

Make sure to drink enough water, whether you manage to cut your salt intake or not.

And if you start wavering on South Beach don't give up, keep reading and researching - there are LOTS of choices out there these days for a reduced-insulin eating plan, from Atkins to Primal. If you're not happy with one keep trying a different one till you hit that sweet spot!
