Poor sleeping habits

I'm going to start with my blog today first thing before breakfast, so I can get the first item out of the way.

1) Did you get at least 7 hours of sleep last night? emoticon

I only got 4 1/2 hours last night. For almost a month I've been going to bed from 1 to 3 o'clock in the morning. When I actually turn out the reading light, I check the time. Last night: 1:42 a.m. This morning when I woke some time after 6 a.m., I decided to stay up and see if I can break this cycle. The emotional/psychological side of this dilemma is that after about 10 p.m., I feel free to do whatever I want to. If I could give myself permission to "have fun" during the day instead of constantly feeling as though I need to stay on task (even though I don't), I could keep a more healthy sleep schedule. This problem is a basis for a lot of other health challenges, including no energy, eating late at night, and avoiding exercise.

2) Exercise at least 10 minutes a day emoticon

3) Nothing to eat after 8 p.m. emoticon

    Do You actually need that much sleep? All my married life I sgtruggled with the fact that my husband seemed to need to spend his entire life asleep! Now I'm on my own, I regularly go to bed about one, and sleep till about 6am. I don't sleep during the day, and I exercise a lot. I've come to the conclusion that I'm one of the people who don't need a lot of sleep, could you be another?

ps I used to use recue remedy to calm down my neurotic cat! Worked a treat.

    So, Is the only time you read is when you are in bed just before going to sleep? I know for me when I get engrossed in a book it is hard to put down - therefore I only allow myself to read while on the treadmill. I accomplish two things reading and exercising:)

    I've struggled with sleep for many years. OK growing off, just keep waking up. A friend has recently recommended Bachs Resuce Night Remedy - put 4 drops on tongue before going to be and it's supposed to help. It's all natural too.
I tried it for the first time last night and had a much better night. Not perfect but a good 100% better than for some time.
I've also been doing the official sleep challenge - that has helped too.
I hope it sorts itself for you soon.
