361 - glad that's over!

Saturday, January 05, 2013

Oh my gosh, CRAZY day at work. A spay (which by the way, is considered routine surgery...there is NOTHING routine about cutting into and removing multiple organs with mass amounts of vessels) did not go well...an artery tore and that was no fun to fix. I had to have another doctor scrub in...it is a 2-woman job. She did well post-op, but it was scary. This is the first, but will not be the last time in my career...it happens to everyone. I also had to euthanize a much beloved patient. His poor dad was so torn up. It comes with being a vet, but it isn't an easy thing to do.

On a lighter note, I got my fitbit! The rest of the fam also got one and our family challenge is on it's way!
I was WAY under calories today...but it was a long, long day!

Oh my gosh, GF, I would have been a nervous wreck. I feel for you on the euthanasia too. Our vet was almost as upset as we were and maybe even more when we had to have Wheeler put to sleep.

On a positive note that might make you feel better. Tiny Squeaker is doing better.

Sorry your day was crummy. Euthanasia's always so hard. Scott just got a fitbit last night, it's already become stressful competeiting with him. I went to the gym this morning, he stayed home, burned more calories lol

Wow, that sounds like a rough day (and just one reason why I could never be a vet). Glad you made it through!
