It is so crazy how different my life is today then it was 6 months ago. I woke up, and went to the gym for 2 hours. An hour of Body Pump and an hour of Zumba. I was so proud of myself, I was able to hold a plank for the full length of time the instructor requested. I was able to hold the plank on my TOES and NOT know knees. I was just curious if I could do the plank on my toes. Not only did I do the plank I did it on my toes. So thrilled.

I then went and saw the amazing movie "Les Miserables". It is fantastic. I had seen the play 5 times in the theater. The stage production and the movie were both really good. I can not tell which one I liked better. I am sure Hugh Jackman will win the Oscar. I thought Daniel Day Lewis had it in the bag for "Lincoln", but now I am not too sure. He was amazing in it. This will be an interesting Oscar season

After the movie we went for linner over at Cheesecake Factory. I had the Shrimp Creole which is a decent 550 calories. I had 2 pieces of bread and some hot green tea. And this is how I realize how much my life and life choices have changed. Before August I would have not even thought of exercising. In fact, the thought of exercise would have made me a little ill and I sure as heck would have been excited about the concept of it. I actually was thinking of staying for Yoga too, but I would not have been able to go to the movie, and that was my treat for working so hard. So, there would have been no exercise at all. I would have just gone to the movie and probably had a glass of wine (there is a bar attached to the theater it is kind of hoity toity theater), and a large buttery popcorn (instead I snuck in a water and a protein bar for after my work out..shhhh don't tell). Then at dinner I would have had ANOTHER couple of cocktails and I wouldn't have chosen the Skinnylicious dinner option. Oh no, I wouldn't. I would have had avocado roll to start and then probably the jambalya (which I found out is something like 1,500 calories. And no one would have had to twist my arm to share a red velvet cheesecake. No, no they would not have. So, really, things are looking up. :)

Now watching the Lakers lose..again. Sigh. :)

    Sometimes the scales that aren't "numbers" surprise us the most!!! I am smiling as I sit here reading your post!! Good for you!!! To be able to see what you had on Friday and then to look back and consider what you would've had six months ago is one of the greatest rewards of choosing to eat differently, to exercise more, and to become a more healthy, happy person. Sometimes the "scales" of 'What I Used To Do" or "How I Used To Be" are more powerful than the "bathroom scale".

    Isn't it amazing? It so isn't just about weight loss, it's about a better quality of living. Love to see the gratitude in your post. It reminds me to be thankful as well. :)

    That is awesome, congratulations on coming so far! I did Body Pump last night for the first time and it nearly killed me so to follow it up with Zumba speaks volumes!
