Yes, I am crazy!!

Friday, January 04, 2013

No I didn't walk the dog today in the cold, BUT I did spend about four hours at the barn. My younger daughter had a dressage lesson and yes it was COLD! Now I understand what "cold down to your bones" means. Ok, it wasn't that bad! However, I was wearing my Carhart boots emoticon and my toes still got cold....that's pretty cold! It felt almost balmy once we were out of the barn and back in the sun. No, the "training" barn was not heated, but luckily our barn is.

So Lady spent two hours in a stall with her cooler on so that she could be completely dry before she was put back into her outdoor paddock. While she dried we went to Subway where I had the kid's turkey meal with lowfat milk and apples. emoticon

I didn't get my normal power walk in, but I did walk a lot and help carry tack. Plus getting in and out of the truck a bunch of times. It may be a stretch, but I counted it all as exercise. I'm also going to do some strength training tonight. Right now my calories are pretty low...almost too low, below 1,000, but it's late and I'm really not hungry.

I'd better get to those weights before I change my mind. Stay warm everyone!!

I feel for you. The last time I did farm work in the cold, I was a young man. Get out the Chili and the hot chocolate.

Reading your blog just makes me get a chill! I just couldn't handle the cold at this point in my life after living in sunny Mexico now for 8 years.
    Keep warm!

Sounds like a good workout. I would be feeling pretty hungry on the day after with such a low caloric intake. Watch for those munchies to hit on Saturday! Have a nice weekend.
