I went a little overboard with the workout today. But when don't I? LOL!!

It started with my usual morning walk with the dog.... I planned on 3.2 miles, but we did 5.2 miles. Uh oh, starting to get a little ahead of myself already.

Then I had an appointment with the PT at the gym while Cooper was at the groomer's. Well, the PT had some paperwork he had to finish up, so he said to just hop on the elliptical while he got everything straightened out. 20 minutes later, at level 14...

We finally got to the point and he set me up with a new ST workout using mostly dumbbells and a couple of machines. I told him how I want to be able to load and unload my kayak, so that is what he focused on... lots of shoulder, back and biceps/triceps exercises. I also did ball exercises and body weight exercises.

I finished out my gym visit by hopping on the treadmill to do the first day of the 5k Running Training Program here on SP. I finished 2.7 miles in 32 minutes. That is only around a 12 min/mile pace, but my legs were still sore from the 3.5 miles I ran on Wednesday.

Picked up the dog from the groomer's (which is one of his favorite places to go), and walked him home, had some lunch then took the dog back out for his afternoon walk. I did make that a little shorter than usual, so maybe I am not completely crazy.

Then I grabbed a quick shower (and boy did I need it!), before cranking out 100 jumping jacks (not all at once yet), sit ups, planks, lunges... and the list goes on and on. I did the January Jumpstart Challenge video twice as well.

By this point I was hungry again, so I had dinner, and actually sat quietly to eat it. I also sat and finished the book I started last night.

Then... I walked the dog again. I was going to stop in the basement and hop on the bike and crank out a few miles, but they were both in use, thank goodness. That would have been overkill, as far as working out today goes!

All together I did 313 minutes of fitness today. Yikes! And I was planning to go snowshoeing tomorrow. I will still go, but Sunday WILL be a rest day! That means 5-6 miles of walking the dog and nothing else. I want to be capable of running again on Monday, so I better take a real rest day in there somewhere. Right?!

I adjusted my fitness tracker back up a bit, seeing as how I have been doing well over my previous estimate. Even with the adjustment I am still well over my calorie burn goal for this week. SP gives a little lecture at the bottom of your fitness tracker if you burn too many calories. I guess I should pay attention...

    if your legs can hold you up and keep moving and you're not feeling exhausted, if you're eating enough to sustain the intensity of the long muscles calorie burn, keep pushing, sounds like you are on a great streak!

I am tired just reading what you did. As for walking and running, my knees and back put a big NO, especially the running, but you are doing great...
quite inspiring ...

    I ignore those silly little comments and have adjusted my tracker to the nutritional guidelines they give you for each aount of calories you are planning to eat. Tight now, I have it set for a 1200 calorie diet, but I am going to see if I need to eat more since I burn between 800-1200 a day in exercise. May have to make more allowances for myself so I don't plateau.

But I am so proud of you for the target traninng in your upper body. As women, we tend to overlook our upper body, except when it comes to what our boobs look like in a shirt! So getting those shoulder and back exercises will have you carrying your Kayak like a 6-pack in no time! (oh, and by redneck standards, that is a GREAT thing! HAHA)

    I find if I have a monster day like that, I get really hungry. The key is to recognize WHY the hunger (duhh, you worked alot!) and feed high quality foods instead of junk candybars.

If you have a ShopRite in your area, they are doing their Can-Can sale, everything is super cheap and you can stock up. (Since I know money is an object for you - as it is for us all!)
