I punched my treadmill...

Yep...but at least I kept running! ;)

I was on the good old 'mill and was jogging and feeling pretty awesome because I'd already jogged through a couple songs and was keeping my pace and breathing VERY steady, something I really struggled with the first, oh I don't know, 6 months of my jogging experience last year LOL. Okay, at least the first couple months. Anyway...So a good song with a slightly faster pace started and I was going for distance and time spent running, not speed, so I did not increase the speed, but accidentally slightly increased my running speed. So I got too close to the display/front of the treadmill and punched it - hard. My knuckle where my ring finger (on my right hand thank goodness, or my wedding ring would be hurting it) meets my hand is all bruised and swollen. It hurts.

BUT...I kept running :) I wanted to at least make it through that song. I felt like I might cry for about a second or two out of shock, pain and embarassment LOL but then I was like pull yourself together before your breathing gets out of whack! So I calmed down and kept going until I hit a mile straight, then slowed to walking. That was good for me since I'm out of practice. The most I've jogged straight was 2 miles, and I could have gone a little longer if I'd been in the right frame of mind, but I got a little distracted LOL. And I was already pleased with how I'd done, so I walked the rest. So I walked 5, ran 14.20, walked the rest up to 30 minutes (so about 11 more minutes)

Also, I was really hungry yesterday. I did well controlling myself with snacks, etc, and even had my meals planned out beforehand in my tracker, but ate a bit extra at dinner and went over. Mainly because I was hungry and I knew I was working out more than what was in my settings to do so I'm hoping it'll balance. I didn't go WAY over.

After my workout today I was already 3-400 over my calories BURNED goal and plan on working out tomorrow so I adjusted it a bit. I'm still over that, but not as much. I'm going to leave it for now and see where I'm at over the next couple weeks, make sure I'm going to keep up this pace with exercise at least then I can up it more. It did give me 50 extra calories to eat per day!

So due to that and just knowing the effort I've been putting in this week with food and exercise, and how my belt is fitting, etc...I'm cautiously optimistically looking forward to weighing tomorrow LOL. I've been far from perfect with food, but considering some of the things around still (like eggnog and cookies and chocolates) that I have NOT been touching and haven't really wanted anymore, I am pretty proud of myself.

Oh, and I'm not going to track it (didn't pay attention to time) but I did get my son out this afternoon after the other kids left, with the dog to get all of us some exercise outside! We have 5 acres so we bundled up and went tromping through the snow (it was 20 degrees out) in our yard and got the mail from the mailbox. We were probably only out 15 or 20 minutes, but I haven't really been OUT for long since it got so cold, but I've been wanting to, so that's the first step :) It was nice getting outside.

So...I think that's most of my updates for now. Wish me luck and send good number vibes for tomorrow! my last weigh-in was 228.5 so I'm hoping to see a 7 or less in there! (so like 227.5 or 227 or less would be fine too...haha) Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone had a healthy week and have a great weekend!!

Here's to a successful weigh in tomorrow! And congratulations on your "run" - I so cannot get into that frame of mind yet. My feet hate leaving the ground, so I stick to the elliptical. But one day, maybe the music will also inspire me! I hope you iced your hand and that it isn't too bad tomorrow.
How fun that you got outside! Enjoy the fresh air!

I'm sending you good number vibes! It sounds like you are doing great though! So good numbers or not, keep in mind that if you keep making good choices, you are gonna get good numbers eventually! I've told myself that it might take time for my body to pull itself together after the holidays.

I loved reading about your jogging. Sorry about the treadmill injury! Get some boxing gloves for protection! I always like your jogging blogs! Adventures in jogging! You are awesome! Your times were great. You've still got it!

Getting out in the snow sounds amazing! What a great way to burn a few calories!

Omg I did this once at the gym on a gazelle machine in the "cardio theater." Turns out using a new cardio machine in the dark gets you three stitches in your palm lol. Who knew?!

I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it. You've created your own luck, and I predict you are going to have a great weigh-in!! Wishing you all the best!
