We decided to go to the rink for a little fun today, it's 29 degrees and the ice rink was just reflooded yesterday.
It was great!!!
In this picture we are looking at the warming house, our house is right next to the warming house in the picture but in reality it's across the street and up the next street a bit. We can see the rink from our bedroom window. This is Maria in the foreground and Laura in the back.
Today was Bella's first time on skates, she has the double runner ones that all the other girls used and she was doing great! Big sister Anne is helping here.
Then she tried pushing a chair for balance, but the chair was too heavy and she couldn't push it very well. We took turns holding her hands, but she got tired pretty fast.
Then the exciting part began for her, and the goofyness for the girls!
Big brother Ben came out too but he didn't put on his skates. She talked him into helping her get her boots on and taking her on the park equipment.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, we skated about 45 minutes and then came home and watched the videos of Bella's first skating trip. She is feeling sleepy, so am I! I haven't been on skates for more than 10 years. I was able to fit into my skates from the 1980's, they are still in good shape and I found out that I hadn't lost my ability to do it! You use a lot of back muscles swinging people around, chasing, pushing, doing a train and bending over to pick up a 3 year old. I'm glad I have been doing P90, I can sure feel the difference.
Look what Sparks has given back to me, Ice Skating! JOY! A healthy Mom with fun kids to play with, maybe over the weekend we can get the other 3 to come out and play too.
