And We Begin Again

Friday, January 04, 2013

The holidays are hard for dieting! I gave up for a while, but I'm back on track! I asked for a juicer for my Birthday, and got it a month early, for Christmas. So excited! I've been dabbling with it so far, and eating only raw foods in between juices.

What started this juicing thing was a documentary called, "Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead." The guy in the video is about my age, and it worked for him, and he was WAY worse, helath-wise than I am, so I wanted to give it a try. I know a lot of people will say that it's not necessarily the healthiest way to go, but it is all raw foods, so I don't see nutrition as a problem, as long as I get a good array of fruits and vegetables.

I know that a lot of people have had weight problems all of their lives. I have not. I've only gotten fat since about the year 2002, or so. My weight problem is self created. It's not heredity or any other excuse I can make for myself.

With that in mind, I've decided to be the master of my own body, and do this juicing thing for the first two weeks. After that, I will add in certain other foods, one at a time, and see how it goes. The bottom line is that I'm 100 pounds over weight, and I can't stand myself anymore.

I'm also going to do videos on Youtube. I figure that will give me the accountability to stay on track. I did my first one a couple of days ago. What do you think of it?

Thought for Today: God created our bodies with magnificence and splendor. It's our responsibility and our honor to take care of it.

He (God) also created days in 24-hour intervals...so each day will be a new beginning. As long as you're getting up - you're moving.........
