April 21 is the day . . .

. . . of my first 10K event of the year. I just signed up for the Vancouver Sun Run. I had registered last year, but a last-minute funeral kept me from participating. This year, I'll try again. Re-training starts Jan. 19. Run, walk; run, walk; run, walk till I'm finally back at covering 10k without stopping. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is having to train on the treadmill on those days when it's too wintery to train outdoors.

Thanks, SparkFriends for all your encouraging comments to my "Baseline . . ." blog. You really got me going : )

Hope your training goes well and you don't have to spend too much time on the dread mill.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Time for me to search for a local 5K. I saw that our Engineers Without Borders team was putting on a 5K in March but then realized it will be in St. Louis. I don't think I can convince DW to let me drive 2 hours to run around a park. The students here usually put on a 5K around St. Patrick's Day (the patron saint of engineers) so I'll keep my eyes open for that.

That's great! I need to look at my race calendar and sign up for a few to give me something specific to train for. Looking forward to hearing about your progress and race!
