Making progress

Friday, January 04, 2013

Day by day... I have been doing better. I have tracked my food beginning on January 2. OK, it is only 2 full days, but I haven't tracked in MONTHS, so I am proud of this. And I did a long workout this morning at the gym, and then did my January Jumpstart Video. The scale even showed a pound down today, although I know I haven't actually lost a pound. Still, it feels good to see it heading in the right direction!

The weekend is always difficult, but I actually ate below my calorie range yesterday. Not on purpose - I had pizza for lunch (half of a lunch sized pizza) and was afraid I would be over my calories. But I stayed in range, and for the first time EVER was below range on carbs. That is really unusal!

I am SO doing this!

    Hi Patti.......
I have found that the 13# off in 13 days was just the encouragement I needed. I have lost 3.5# since January 1st and am hopeful that will continue. My desire to exercise more is being impeded by pain in my left hip which has been there for over 2 weeks. I am so hoping that this DOES NOT mean replacement surgery. I am doing what I can, but it is painful to walk and this definitely slows me down some. I AM NOT giving up!!!! Like you, I AM SO DOING THIS.

You're off to a great start! keep up the momentum! Set mini goals along the way! I read your page -You are so right about the importance of tracking. I'll be 60 this year too, and now also have to deal with arthritis attacking knees and hip. i want my weight down and muscles strengthened for when I eventually may need replacement. The exercise is SO important.
And SODIUM seems to be the most difficult thing for me to control. But I'm grateful for the trackers! Here's to us! Blessings on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!
