I started this journey about 6 months ago. If anyone had told me I'd be where I am now, I would have pfft'd and wished it were so, but not believed them. But here I am! My goal was a size 14 (how small that sounded at the time), which I have reached, but I know I can do more! My revised goal is a size 8. A size I don't think I have ever been (well, maybe when I was 8 YEARS OLD!) I am smaller now than I was on my wedding day.
I feel fantabulous! I have been eating healthier overall, and I have been maintaining my weight loss. I have started working a gym routine into my day (boy, getting up at 4am is ROUGH!), but I am determined now to sculpt the body I want. I have realistic expectations (those stretch marks ain't going anywhere), but I know I can tone and get rid of some of these rolls.
According to my home scale, I've gotten rid of nearly 57 pounds. It's not official until I weigh at the gym this afternoon, but still...I am so stoked.
If you've tried every diet in the book and none of them have worked, I urge you to try Ideal Protein. It's not a quick fix, but it's quicker than most. You will learn how to eat healthy. I am eating vegetables for the first time in my life! I actually look forward to my roasted rutabaga! I'm no where near being a vegetarian, but I am looking at baby steps of success!
However you do it, just stick with it and BELIEVE in yourself and the process. There's a gal here at work that has lost over 100 pounds on Weight Watchers. It works for her! Ideal Protein works for me! Jenny Craig will work for someone else. The key is to arm yourself with knowledge, believe in your goal, and trust the process you've chosen. You have to CONSTANTLY be giving yourself encouragement! That is what makes Sparkpeople.com such an amazing tool! So many people are on the same journey and at different places on that journey -- you will always find a hand to help you up, as well as be able to turn around and help someone else, which gives us strength, too!
Wow, I'm just babbling here, but today is one of those days when I woke up and just realized how good I have it!
(Major thanks to my SparkCoachSisInLaw for all her encouragement of late. You are my inspiration!)
Edited to add: Lost 5 lbs this week! But only lost an inch overall. How bizarre! But my clothes fit fine and I'm sure the inches will catch up (down?) with the pounds lost!
