...The capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.
...The capacity to endure hardship or pain.
I received this yesterday in a daily email that I get.
"We can try to stop making unreasonable demands upon those we love.
We can show kindness where we had shown none.
With those we dislike we can begin to practice justice and courtesy,
perhaps going out of our way to understand and help them."
Since I quit drinking alcohol 318 days ago, I have truly learned this word TOLERANCE and I have truly learned the above lesson. Oh, don't get me wrong, its an on going lesson that I work hard on every day. But I know I have come a long way. I've come to the understanding that it's not "all about me"...something I use to joke about, yet now believe deep down inside I really believed it! Tolerance is not an easy word to live out, yet when I practice both TOLERANCE and LOVE, well, life is so much easier and enjoyable for I give others a chance!
TOLERANCE TODAY....this is my goal!
