Days 2 & 3 Motivation increasing

So although I'm 0-2 on working out the first two days of the year (regular workouts, not just using my step counter), I am still feeling good and like I'm on the right track.

Day 2 - 1/2/13 - I made my calls and have a nice long maintenance massage scheduled for Monday to get all the existing kinks worked out of my neck, shoulders, etc. This will put me physically in much better shape to start working out!

Made the dreaded call and self-referred myself to a new Endocrinologist. The gal who I spoke with was ever so nice, which made me feel even better about the call. Just a week and a half and I go see him for the first time ... hopefully this will be the Dr. that works for me and my stubborn ole thyroid!!

Splurged at lunch and bought myself the Fitbit One - what a neat little toy!! I started wearing it as soon as I got back to the office and even wore it last night to track my sleeping patterns. Now that was quite interesting!!

Stayed nicely on track with my food and water and logged in and got points, commented on blogs etc etc!

Day 3 - 1/3/13 - My dear friend at work came back from holiday vacation and informed me she's retiring in 6 months which made me horribly sad. She is my confidant, my go-to person for my work and personal concerns, including my workouts, weight etc. Although I am certain she will stay in touch, it definitely won't be the same not having her nearby on a daily basis.

But on a positive note, she and I have agreed to take our twice daily breaks (which we never do) and head down to the gym and workout. This is a big plus because in the event of a missed evening workout, I won't beat myself up too badly because I will know I have already done at least 20 minutes that day yay!

I was reading articles for points this morning and came across this one about shin splints:
When I was active on SP last time, I attempted the C25K program, but developed shin splints early on and had to back off. I now come to realize, this was most likely due to having no arch, as mentioned in the article, and I was not using supports in my shoes. So I think that I will put this seed in the back of my mind for a little later, once I have lost a few pounds, and gotten into a more regular workout routine!

I still need to post my short-term goals on my profile page, I will work on that tonight.

All-in-all, I am feeling pretty darn good today. I feel like the motivation is creeping up on me and I remember this feeling .... and I remember how much I enjoyed feeling motivated! Bring it on!!
