Off The Cliff!

Thursday, January 03, 2013

Today is payday and while I normally am happy with my paycheck, this one was a shocker. I got a raise this past Dec ($1500 a yr). But for one reason or the other (fiscal cliff jumping, expiring medicare holiday, etc) it only bumped my pay up by $3 a pay period. Don't get me wrong...I'm very lucky to have a job when so many don't. But raises are hard to come by where I work. So I was looking forward to seeing a bigger jump in my pay. Esp with a new car payment. Although I do have all the monthly finances worked out, it would have been nice to have a tiny bit of breathing room. I have a few things I'm going to do to put more back into my take home. Like reduce the amount each paycheck I allot to buying shares in my company. Somehow...I'll mange...I always do! emoticon

Since Jason went home yesterday (I miss him!), hubby has regained control of the TV remote control. And he's vowing to never watch Storage Wars again! emoticon Jason really liked that show so we watched it a lot. He can't watch it at where he's staying. Well..he could...he has Slingplayer on his phone, but the picture gets choppy after a bit, mainly because it's running on his Sprint 3G and Sprint's not the best where he lives. I wish I could get him a better image but I can't. emoticon

Eating today, so far, has been good. I'm still facing the same problem I had pre-Holiday. Dinner time. Last night I made spaghetti. I ate way too much. Although I wasn't to the point of feeling stuffed. And cheese...I added like a 1/2 of cheese to it! So I need to work on the whole dinner thing.

So that's it for me today. Only ONE more day until the weekend!! Have great rest of Thursday where ever you are!

Sorry about the Pay Raise taking most of it for Taxes. This Country has a Huge Spending Problem that needs to be stop. The Nation needs to live with a Balance Budget. We haven't had one for over Three Years. Which is against the law. We need New Leadership in Washington. Everyone is being hit right and left by new taxes that aren't right or fair to anyone. We need to call our Congressmen and Women in Washington and demand thay put a stop to the spending and get the Country on Sound Financial Basis. Small Government and more Jobs without the choking taxes etc. being impose on them by the Government. Let's hope things will get better in time. God Bless You and Have a Wonderful Week. Enjoy Today. Take Care. You are doing Great. Keep It Up.

I think it is going to take a while for paychecks to actually stabilize this year. SInce the IRS couldn't publish withholding tables, comapnies are all over in how they are guessing. And sometimes a raise is just enough to make you ineleigble for some deductions, etc.

Oh Lord! How right on is that cartoon. I remember thinking when they were having news of the school shootings on MSN's homepage that to have blips about the Kardashians right in there with that stuff was disgusting. Please tell me where they fit in the grand scheme of things, 'cause I really don't get it! Sorry your raise wasn't what you thought it would be. Hugs, Calen~
