A lovely afternoon!

Thursday, January 03, 2013

Today I had a 5 hour break from being home. My friend called me the other day and asked me if I would meet her today for lunch. We met at Panera's and had soup and sandwich to eat and we sat and talked for more than 2 hours. She is such a dear friend, we try to get out together about once per season, just the two of us. We exchanged our Christmas gifts, just little things but given with love and thoughtfulness. I brought along my tablet computer to show her pictures of the things that are happening in our life and she had prints of her sons and grandkids and their trip out west.

We share our joys and our struggles, just like here on Sparkpeople! I see her very often at church and in our study group but sometimes in a crowd you don't get that chance to really talk and share like you can when it's one on one.

After that joy filled lunch we parted with hugs and I went on to the Salon to get my hair cut! It has been about 2 months and it was long and getting uncontrollable. My stylist is so sweet, she does the wash and scalp massage, the hand massage and the hot towels. I think she did a great job. No rush, very relaxing and we talk about mutual friends and current events.

Now these pictures are not great, they were taken with my tablet, I haven't figured out how juggle the camera and take my own picture yet!

My hair cut was a reward for my hard work on the Christmas Present to me team!

Of course now I will have to cover my ears more! But it was warm today 18 degrees, it feels warm after the below zero weather we have been getting.

Sounds like a perfect day! And your hairstyle looks great on you. I couldn't help but notice the nice quilt on your bed in the background. My brain is definitely on one track these days.....

18 degrees... brrrr. I thought 36 and windy about 20 miles an hour was cold. Happy New year to you.
