I don't travel light when it comes to food. Every day, I bring breakfast, lunch, and two snacks to the office...it usually looks like this:
Those glass containers are my #1 ally in easy portion control - each container has its volume stamped on the bottom, so if I want to eat 1 cup of yogurt and I know my container holds 2 cups, I can safely eyeball my portion. This makes measuring messy things like yogurt quick and simple, but it also works for easier things like fruits and veggies.
I still use measuring cups for grains (I'm an impatient pourer and would quickly dish up 2 cups of oats instead of the 2/3 cup I usually eat for breakfast), but these glass containers save me a lot of time and dish washing.
