Got to sleep in, so I finally got my full 8 hours! Breakfast consisted of sauteed veggies: peppers, onions, celery (the Holy Trinity, if you're from New Orleans), with a couple of eggs. A tablespoon of SHARP cheddar (I find that I use less if the flavour is more intense) on a fat-free flour tortilla, and a clementine for "dessert" and my tummy is happy, and my thighs aren't cussing me out.
So, for My Motivators (and because my fellow Flyers "get dressed to the shoes"), I'm actually wearing cute clothes that I could be seen in public in, and earrings and lipgloss! I'm wearing an apron over it, which I LOVE as I LOVE aprons ("make more aprons" is on my to-do list -- I certainly have enough fabric stashed to whip up several!), and I'm off to the kitchen to make breakfast for my dogs (they love liver) and my husband (he's easy -- an egg, veg and rice casserole will last him several days...I, however, get BORED OUT OF MY SKULL eating the same thing every day!). Then, as per my New Year's resolution list (which is long enough to wallpaper my bedroom), I'm off to sort through my craft studio. Lots of stuff in there that I know I'll never use, so I'm thinking of making kits to donate to the local womens' shelter.
Already thinking about what to fix for lunch...I do LOVE to cook, fortunately. I've never been a prepackaged kind of cook; I like fresh -- and it forces me to keep the fridge clean, so nothing gets left to rot in a back corner, right? I'm thinking burgers -- I have some 93% lean ground beef -- with cheese for my husband and a 100-cal sandwich 'thin' for me (he gets the fat, I get the gluten...it works for us!), with lettuce and tomato and mustard and catsup. "Fried" potatoes (boiled potatoes, sprayed with olive oil Pam and a bit of sea salt, baked in a cast iron skillet at 500 degree for 15 minutes) and carrot / apple slaw with raspberry balsamic vinegar (I've learned to LOVE that stuff!). Dinner was cream of veggie soup: pureed California mix, a splash of milk and 1/2 oz of swiss cheese; a cornbread muffin; some sweet little grape tomatoes; celery stuffed with curried turkey sandwich spread; and a handful of boiled shrimp. (Did I mention I'm cleaning out the fridge?) And my bedtime snack? Chocolate malt Ovaltine, warmed up!
I'm off to clean my house!
