Yo-Yo Whiplash

Thursday, January 03, 2013

For anyone that's been on the Yo-Yo, you know what my title is about. It's the emotional and physical pain of working incredibly hard to achieve success and then letting it all go and ending up right back where you started (or sometimes higher than your starting point). I'm tired of the yo-yo. I'm not going to ride it anymore. I'm just going to ride the slide. One steady downward motion til I reach the bottom.

The point is, I need to learn from the pain of the ups and downs and focus on real sustainable changes. That's where I'm heading at this point.

I'm going to try to make blogging a regular part of this as I know it will help me by being more accountable to myself and others.

So here I go down the slide.... Weeeee.....

Climbing back into the saddle here too! And OOF, yes it ain't pretty!

But paradoxically, one thing my holiday backslide taught me? I was in pretty darned good shape beforehand! Cuz after a few weeks of letting myself go I found that I just couldn't come CLOSE to doing what I could before! My first Spinning class felt like I was in QUICKSAND!

So, knowing that I did it before helps me to reclaim that territory and YES, I'm already noticing big improvements!

    Kudos to keepin' 'er SPARKIN'!

Great title! "Been there done that" really doesn't cover it. Looking forward to your future posts. Hang in there - we're pulling for you.

I know exactly what you mean. It doesn't make any sense to put all the effort into losing 30 pounds, only to find it again by the end of the year. I feel like an epic failure.

I'm brushing the dust off my Spark Page and getting started, again. I'm on that slide with you. It's a down hill ride from here on out. We can make it happen. Let's make this year lucky 13.
