Eating Healthy on a Budget

I am a few days into my Slim Fast New Year. I haven't been on the scale to see if I am losing anything yet, but I'm trying not to focus on that too much. For the one meal I eat a day, I've been winging it. Since my daughter is at work with me (until Monday, when she goes back to school), I have been drinking SlimFast for dinner, and enjoying a lunch with her. There is something special to her about sitting down at a restaurant with just me. So I have been indulging her.

But come Monday the 7th... I will have to have a better game plan. Here is an article I found interesting, about eating better... cheaper that I thought I would share with everyone!

    Interesting article! Thanks. You might want to try Think Thin bars. They have 20 grams of protein and come in a lot of flavors. I use them for breakfast and lunch a lot because they are easy to grab and go. Good luck with your new plan! emoticon

    I try not to be so obsessive about weighing myself so I do it every Wednesday. It always seemed to work for me :) Then I don't get too disappointed weighing myself every single day and not seeing results as quickly as I want. I try to not buy to many ready made meals, but with having three kids its sometimes the easiest solution when you have a million appointments or school functions going on. I've always wanted to try making several freezable meals in advance, but I just never get around to actually doing it lol. My middle kid doesn't go back to school ti l Monday either and shes been driving me crazy emoticon I love that she's in preschool and her oldest sister is in school so I can get a lot of one on one time with my baby boy emoticon

    That is so awesome you get that special one on one time with your daughter!

    I find it easier to not go near a scale and if I do I have to be in a good place. lol emoticon I found my body tells me what is going on- whether I am losing, gaining, or remaining just by how I feel.

    I think it's great you are trying a different approach. I enjoy slimfast myself as a meal replacement for after my work out. It curbs the protien cravings and gives me a treat!

    Someone once told me:

    If your are tracking your food and staying within your calorie budget, your weight is none of your business. Only weigh yourself once a month.

    Of course I don't follow that...but I think it worthy food for thought!!
