Jordan and I went to the new Downtown Y for the 2nd time last night. I LOVE the Stairmill machine! You can climb different world landmarks and it tells you how many floors that it. Last night I did the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is the tallest building in the world. 255 floors! Jordan's brother said he can do it in 24 minutes... it took me 35! Phew, and what a workout! I'll keep working on it and hopefully cut my time down.
So that's one monthly goal done - set a new PR on the Stairmill! Previous best was 178.
The unfortunate part is that because the FitBit uses an altimeter to measure flights of stairs, it did not count on my FB as 255 flights. But it did count for just regular steps.
After that, I walked 1/4 mile, ran 1 mile, and walked another 1/4 mile cool-down.
Also, I used my new Ipod Nano to listen to the first Wheel of Time book (another goal for 2013) and am already in chapter 4! Time flies when you are working out!
In other news, I'm tracking my nutrition today and am determined to get my protein in. So I had a coffee protein shake this morning. (Yes, Mom, that's right, coffee flavored!)
I've also taken my multi-vitamin 2 days in a row, had 5 servings of F&V yesterday, and had NO dessert yesterday! (The hardest accomplishment!! lol)
This year is off to a good start. I'm nerdy-excited about having a full day of work with my FitBit today. Let's see how that affects my "Flower Power" as I call it.
Tonight is Cycle class, which I know I'll have to get there early to reserve a bike for myself and my friend... I bet the class will be packed!
