Day Three of 2013

Thursday, January 03, 2013

This job of my husband's is going to make me go gray fast! For those that don't know my hubby is now a prison guard and I have to say it kind of freaks me out. I keep worrying about him I guess that's only natural. He calls me every morning on his way home from work which is nice because if not my brain gets a little carried away. This morning he was thirty minutes late calling me. Which I know is probably just waiting on count to clear or the next shift getting there and taking over his position. But every minute that ticks by I can't help fearing the worst things. Some not as bad as others. I know most cases it's probably overtime that he was asked to stay later. Which I find crazy he already works a 12 hour shift. When they do overtime it's another 4 hours!! I couldn't do that! 10 hours is way too much for me. Plus I know he is tired he didn't get a whole lot of sleep yesterday. Some days are just like that you can't sleep no matter what.

So here it is going on 7am and Brandon is on his way home. I have to say I can't wait for him to get here. Years having him work days I always thought it would be cool having him work nights with me. But now that his is longer. I hate coming home to a dark house and I really hate sleeping alone in the house really late or to some people really early in the morning by myself. Can't wait for him to walk in the house and then I know I can really get some rest.

Talking to him now and his on his way home....Have a good night Everyone!!

It's a worrisome job for sure. I understand how you can get a little squirrelly when he's late. My hubby works away - 15 days gone, 6 days home. I sure miss him when he's away. Always sleep better when he's warming the bed beside me.

I know how you feel. My hubby does direct care of the criminally insane, without the benefit of any protection (no tazer, pepper spray, etc.).
