Something I've Never Tried Before

It's the ten-minute workout. Chris Downie is a big proponent of this, and I did see how this idea helped him start streaks of fitness. Yet I never tried it before.

I've been sucked into the philosophy of All-or-Nothing fitness; if I couldn't get at least 30 minutes in, then I might as well not bother.

What a mistake!

Tonight I was exhausted after working all day, making dinner, helping the kids with TKD curriculum, and reading with kids for a good 45 minutes. After putting them to bed, I just wanted to curl up and snuggle. But I committed to a minimum of ten fitness minutes per day...and I am trying very hard to stick to my plan. Downstairs I went, onto the treadmill, thinking, 'Just ten minutes. Just ten minutes' nearly the entire time.

I did it. Thirteen minutes of walk/jogging, and I completed one mile. More than that, I kept my resolution.

Small victories, right? Count every one.

    OMG. When I posted on your blog yesterday, I didn't even look to see whose it was. :) Then I went to your blog again today, to look for you personally, and sat there thinking "Goodness, this is similar to teh one I read yesterday!" As I clicked off the page to another, I caught a glimpse of my comment from yesterday. Too funny. I guess I should pay more attention.

    Oh boy do I hear the whole exhausted thing..but I went and vegged on the couch last night! LOL Just ten minutes...just ten minutes. Gotta have to try one too.

    emoticon I'm usually an all-or-nothing girl too but 10 minutes is certainly doable. I need to adopt this type of fitness plan too. It makes sense and glad it worked for you. Thanks for sharing.
