Day 374 - M

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

It was a busy day - cold, but very sunny out with little or no wind. It's the 1st day since the big 14" snowfall that Jetta & I have been able to make it back into the woods on the hiking trail. We had to break the trail thru 6" or so of snow. Had on my big Sorrel pak boots with felt liners that come up to my knees. Not exactly made for quick cardio walking, but mushing thru deep snow. We made it all the way to the end of the trail and it was hard work. Got the heart pumping and the breaths accelerating pretty well. It was only 28 degrees but I could feel myself beginning to sweat underneath all the layers. So it was a good workout even though it wasn't fast walking. Never stopped and made it a continuous trek. It was really interesting to see 'who' uses the hiking trail when we're not out there. In the snow you can see the tracks. Surprisingly, it was mostly coyotes and only saw one set of deer tracks on the trail. I expected to see lots of deer tracks on the trail. Not many rabbit tracks were there either.

Finished up the rest of the cardio walking in the house and did ST this evening, core; upper body.

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Wednesday was great!! emoticon

Sounds like fun!!! I haven't gotten out to hike our woods yet. My son has and has noted not many animal tracks on the trails here either. Everyone seems to be bedded down and waiting for the sun maybe? Even the squirrel hasn't ventured out but once to steal birdseed since the "Blizzard of 2012". LOL emoticon

I hope that you were dressed warmly. I would have frozen.

As I was reading this I could just picture you both walking on the trail and noticing the tracks. Thanks for the that
