I was thinking back over the past couple weeks, about how chaotic they were, but that there was a lot of joy as well. With the way our school calendar was set up this year, we didn't have as many days off before Christmas as we usually do, and that's when I do most of my baking. I make usually between 12 and 16 "goody bags" every year for friends, co-workers and family. Because I was on a tight schedule, I had a couple of days of marathon kitchen time, 6 hours or so on my feet, baking away. It wasn't until after the bags had all been passed out, the holiday over and I had some time for reflection that I realized I'd spent all that time on my feet, and *they never hurt!* That is a major change from when I was heavier! I remember them stinging and aching and that feeling of my feet being sausages stuffed into a too-small casing. I'd have to sit down between batches of cookies just to take the load off my tired dogs. Now, that is no longer an issue, and I didn't even realize it until days later!
All the more reason to keep on keepin' on, with the healthy eating and the exercise - keep my feet happy!
