We went on over to Stanton which is the county seat of Martin County so I could collect taht county. Brings my count of counties walked to 254. Only a hundred more to go!

Stanton was originally a Carmelite Monestary and the city grew up around it. Most of the city streets are named St. something. There was St. Joseph, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Peter. You get the idea. This is the old Monastery which stands vacant.



This is downtown Stanton.



They don't have a pretty courthouse but they have a neat pavillion on the courthouse lawn.



They have a nice mural too.
