At the beginning of 2012, I made a lengthy list of goals that I wanted to accomplish, and I wanted to sum up where I landed with them.
1.) Complete a 10K run before the middle of the year - DONE!
2.) Complete a half marathon before the end of the year (as long as my knee holds up) - Not done - I've scratched the distance running due to knee issues.
3.) Register for the Disney Princess half marathon for Feb 2013 (after completing a half prior to the end of this year) - Nope - see above.
4.) Re-locate and re-attempt vegetable and fruit gardens this year - DONE!
5.) Build my new chicken coop so I can move my hens to the back yard - DONE!
6.) Build a fire pit to further enjoy my back yard - Not yet, this got on hold due to determining that new floors were more important...
7.) Maintain my weight all year long at or within 5 pounds of 125 pounds (my current weight) - DONE!
8.) Remain active on Spark People all year long - DONE!
9.) Explore my dreams and goals for the future, and stop being afraid of trying new paths. I realize I have lots of interests, and I probably can't combine them all together, but I can at least move in those directions and see which ones speak loudest to me:
a.) explore certification for dog training - I joined the local obedience club and am working on becoming a trainer!
b.) explore certification for personal training - explored but not ready to pursue.
c.) explore requirements for dietician/nutritionist licensing - eh... not sure it's what I want to do...
d.) continue volunteering with Mimi at the local nursing home - Slacked on this...
e.) work with Luna to obtain CGC certification - 2 failures in a row. We're taking a break.
f.) obtain Mimi's Happy Tails certification - Need to do this.
g.) obtain Luna's Happy Tails certification - Failed CGC certificate. Not eligible.
h.) start cultivating relationships with Hall County officials to better understand the possibility of beginning a prison dogs program here. - haven't done anything here yet.
10.) Continue my journey to a cleaner life - both in terms of the foods I consume and the products I use in my home and on my person. - DONE!
11.) Take more pictures - of myself, my family, and my projects around the house - DONE! Maybe not as much of me, but lots of my family.
12.) Crochet a blanket - started... but not finished...
13.) Learn to cook/prepare vegetables that I've never tried before - and try them! - DONE! More to do here!
So of the 13 goals I made at the beginning of 2012, I accomplished 8 of them!! I'd say that's pretty freaking awesome.
In 2013, I have a few repeat goals, and a few new goals...
1.) Maintain my ability to at least run 5K races
2.) Explore training for a Triathlon (sprint)
3.) Re-try the garden, with hopefully a little more success this year.
4.) Build that fire pit!
5.) Maintain my weight within 5 pounds of 125.
6.) Remain active on Spark People all year long
7.) Continue exploring dreams/options for the future.
8.) Obtain Mimi's Happy Tails certificate and get back to volunteering with her at least once a month.
9.) Continue the clean life journey - foods, products in my house, etc.
10.) More pictures!
11.) More new veggies and new recipes!
12.) Crochet that blanket!
13.) Continue yoga classes and begin meditation on a regular basis.
Is 13 enough?? Perhaps I'll add more later...
