A new beginning

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

Well, it is day 2 of back on track and I am doing great. We did more today than we have in the last 2 weeks. The condo is cleaned, the laundry done, garbage out, grocery shopped and put away and most of all exercise done too!!

I also managed to squeeze in a nap, lol. It really tuckered me out. I don't usually mind doing laundry when I am home as I have a machine in the house but here I have to use the laundrimat and it means packing up the clothes and taking them on a 15 minute trip, sitting there while they wash and dry and then packing them up to come home. It's not hard work, it's just boring and time consuming. But it's done now and I'm happy about that.

Todays trip to the grocery store netted a bottle of sugarfree peppermint holiday coffeemate that was marked down to $1.49 for the quart. Dumb me, I only bought one because I'm not crazy about peppermint except in chocolate but when I got home and tried this, I could kick myself for not getting more. It was absolutely delicious!! We also got a huge loaf of Italian bread for .49 and I know I should be eating wheat but my husband has high potassium and can't have wheat anything. So I am giving in and just watching my portion sizes but making it so we both still eat the same. And the last bargain was chicken patties much like the broiled ones you get at the fast food places, 4 in a package for only $1.08!! I bought 6 packages and froze most of them for later. It's going to be nice picking one out for sandwiches and not having to cook them although if I have extra sauce hanging around, I will make them parmisean in the microwave. Yummy, yummy!!

So that was my day and not it's time to fill in all the journals, (food and exercise) so I can settle down for the night. Have a good one!!

Noreen, Have you thought about exercising while you wait for those clothes to do their thing? I only go to the laundry mat to wash large bedding things or sleeping bags or rugs, but I have found while I am waiting for them to wash I have exactly 23 minutes.

My laundry mat is pretty safe, so I head out to the parking area and walk the sidewalks back and forth or around the parking lot for that time. Then I put them in the dryers and that gives me about another 30 minutes and I do the same thing.

I am really bad about waiting for things, trains, lights, responses to my letters, husband to answer my questions, yeah just about everything. But I am worst at things that just eat up my time that I could be doing something else. So I try to fit in something while I wait. So now instead of aimlessly flipping through magazines I take the time to get my exercise in. Then I go home doubly happy. Just a thought, because it sounds like you like to get alot done at once too.

Now that's a day I can wrap my head around! You got some awesome bargains at the store too!

I'm glad I ahve the washer/dryer in the basement here. I've done the laundromat and I don't care for it. When my dryer broke, Plex and I were hitting up the laundromat and we'd sit there playing cards or reading books til it was done. I always felt like I had better things to do with my time.

    Keep up the great work!

Last year, I made a resolution to lose weight and I did. About June, I hit a plateau. Fortunately, between June and now I only gained back a little of that weight. This year, I'm starting out again at a lower weight -- just like you! We know how to do it and know we can do it and we are DOING it! As long as we don't give up, we will never fail.
