I Am Furious

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

I am sure many of you have been watching the news on the Fiscal Cliff. I am furious the way the Congress is allowing us to get deeper and deeper in debt, giving millions to Nascar to redo their raceways but yet will not give any money to New Jersey or New York for help from the devastation of Sandy. I could go on about how angry I am at what is happening with our government. I am writing our governor letting them know how disappointed I am in him. Will it do any good, probably not but at least he will know and if enough of us step forward they could possibly wake up and make changes that are so critically needed.

I just don't get all that is happening with our country. We are at the age, we remember America and what it stood for and how it prospered. The other day on the news the new Secretary of State (I think that is his title now from Hillary) Kerry was giving 60 million to some country's 'rebels' to help them with what they are going through. My God - our children and Seniors are starving in this country. The news said, 17 million children go to bed hungry in this country. Shame on our Government. Think how many mouths could be fed with 60 million dollars. I just don't get it. I am angry too!!!

I'm right beside you, Pat...the 'news' and the way it is reported is so disgusting. There was a time the reporters just told you what was happening...they did not tell you what to think about it or try to force you to think their way...if fact, you did not even know what their personal thoughts were...now you wonder IF they think, at all. As far as the politicians are concerned...I am so discouraged with the whole group with very few exceptions. We all need to do as much as we can to take care of ourselves, be prepared for anything...and, of course, pray.

You are not alone at all. Most of those making the rules and laws have never had to live on a fixed income.

So glad I am not alone. I think perhaps the Speaker should have to live in a motel, have had his place totally destroyed and then perhaps he can truly "feel" the pain of these poor people . Have his livelyhood taken from him too! Governor Christy is really trying to get help for New Jersey and the Speaker will not take his calls. Shame on him! I am not a political person myself and will not let this rule my conversations with people but I truly understand your husband MRE.It is a farce Sandy! God help us.

If you think *you're* angry - heck, ya should hear my spouse rant and rave! Both I and my daughter have had to speak with him to, ahem, *encourage* him to back off his spiels! Neither of us are big political fans (and I especially LOATHE it), and let me tell ya, it's been a tense December at home while all this nonsense was going on! At least spouse did back off his Fox News Channel habit a bit - that really tended to set him off!

I hear you! It is pathetic that Congress (specifically the House because the Senate has already approved the money) has yet to approve funds to help with the devastation of Sandy. Since the Speaker has not even brought the issue up for a vote in the House, it sure looks like he can't get his people behind it. Good grief - how partisan can they be????
