Happy New Year! Here's to 2013....

It's been awhile since I've blogged (since May!), but the New Year always gets me thinking about starting anew. So once again, I will try to blog more and keep up!
Weight wise, I've stayed about the same since May.... around 125#. I have found that since introducing yoga into my life, I've obsessed about the scale a lot less. Which is a good thing more me.
Nutrition wise, I've been vegetarian for 1 year now! I tried the vegan diet, but it was too restrictive for me. My nutrition goal for the year (and life) is to limit any processed foods to 3 servings per day (white bread, refined sugars, etc). I've basically been following the Weight Watchers principles (but not the tracker), and its simplicity works for me. But I do need to cut out the processed stuff.
Exercise- I've been finding that most of my exercise has been teaching- Zumba, TurboKick, CAGE, and yoga. I am testing for my black belt in May, and have much work to do these next few months to get there... the jump spinning kicks are my nemesis, I hate leaving the ground! I have found yoga to be a true gem, it sounds like a cliche, but it has helped me tremendously with stress and being able to evoke calm within myself. I'm trying to put in a couple more days of interval training (Jillian Michaels DVD is great) and yoga/pilates.

These are my thoughts for now... I'm sure in March I'll be dieting down somewhat for bikini season, but right now I'm going to concentrate on eating clean, getting in a couple of days more of exercise that are non teaching days, and getting more yoga in.
