New Year, new goals

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

Last year I was quite successful with my goals. Unfortunately I did gain back about 10 pounds, but I have a feeling a few of those are just bloat from the holidays. So here goes some goals for this year.
1.Lose that 10, plus 20 more.
2. Be able to do 20 pushups
3. Find more activities to do with the kids
4. Find a part time job that doesn't interfere too much with family or Zumba
5. become a better cook
6. keep a cleaner home

I know already that sticking with Zumba and walk away the pounds will help, plus I need to get into a regular strength training routine, and work on keeping my cholesterol down. Drinking more water will help as well.

Good goals. With regard to a cleaner home: what helped me very much this past year was to make a schedule and set aside time in my agenda. More or less like this: monday one hour for the kitchen, wednesday an hour for the bathroom, friday one hour for the bedroom. Plus an hour per week for 'extra chores'. Joining the 'Fit and organized' team helped to motivate me, too!

No, it's very helpful! My first goal then is to knock some of that out tomorrow. What good are goals without a plan? Thanks!

Love your goals. Have you thought about breaking these down into smaller goals to help you reach the overall goals?? For example:

    2. Be able to do 20 pushups
How many pushups can you do today. Can you set a goal to do one more next week and another the week after that? I bet you can knock out this goal in month or two if you try pushups 3 times per week.
And you could set a goal to blog about your pushup progress at least once per week.

    5. become a better cook
How about a goal to watch a cooking video and try a recipe once per week?
I'd love to hear about any new recipes and how it goes.

    6. keep a cleaner home
Do you have a schedule for certain cleaning activiites?
And again you could blog about it.

You get the idea, but let me know if you want more ideas.

These really are great goals! They are acheiveable, realistic and some are specific. You've heard of SMART goals? I would add a little more specifics and some milestones or deadlines to help you keep them in focus, it may help?? At least it does for me.

I hope these ideas help. Good luck to you and Happy New Year! I can't wait to cheer you on as you knock these goals out in no time! And please just ignore me if this isn't helpful. LOL!

    Hugs to you.
