So we talked to the kids yesterday about this fast thing we'll be doing in two weeks. They're not terribly thrilled about it to say the least, but it'll be good for all involved. I have trouble getting my husband to even eat salad
as he's not a huge vege lover, so a challenge for me to find/make foods they'll like and eat.
We also informed them that as we eat up the "not allowed"
foods in the house we won't be replacing them prior to the fast. So things like pop, ice cream, chips etc. won't be re-purchased until after this is over near the end of Feb. My hope for all of us is to feel so much healthier eating this way, that they won't want to go back to all that other food. Still reintroduce meats and such but in a much more healthy/limited way.
The kids are still out of school the rest of this week and are already hounding my husband to take them to the gym to "shoot hoops"...lol
Told him to find out about open swim
as well for the ones that don't like hoops. Not sure when my first trip to the gym will be....we've got choir tonight and worship team practice tomorrow night...unless we go afterwards which might work. Need to dig out my gym bag and make sure it's packed with everything i'll need...lol
I'm both excited and nervous about this new adventure we're about to embark on. I don't want it to be something we start with good intentions but never finish because it's hard
(happened many times before) lol.
I plan on trying to blog daily thru this adventure. Mostly to keep myself accountable, but also to hopefully encourage someone else.
