Another Day

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

I didn't get up and run, but I came home and ran. Couch to 5K, Week 1, Day 1. All over again. It was hard. Then I went to BodyBalance. It was hard. My right leg just HURTS. My back was hurting while running.

I saw the orthopedist this morning. He thought my leg and foot problems could stem from back problems, even though I don't really have back problems per se. Just some lower back pain when I've been sitting too long, and sometimes when I lift. And apparently, sometimes when I run. LOL He did x-rays. When he looked at them, he seemed surprised. He said my spine is pretty much perfect - he said it's rare to see. (He didn't say, "in someone your age" or "in someone your size," so that was nice!) Anyway, he did mention that my thyroid meds sometimes cause joint pain. This is another serious reason to get the darned thing nuked or hacked out or something. This doctor did mention that in Germany doctors tend to prefer surgery over radiation. Now I'm waffling about that again. Whatever. I'm going to try to have something done to it at the end of the month.

I may take it easy tomorrow and just walk or ride the stationary bike.

Eating was good today. I resisted chocolate at work and brownies and cookies at home. I did eat a piece of corn bread. There are worse things...

I give you lots of credit for getting out there and exercising! I started with hiking yesterday...2 hours...eventually I will work my way back to running. Thanks for the motivation (knowing you are doing it). emoticon

Hope you can get the leg and foot problem fixed soon. And the problem with your thyroid also. I had mine removed. And while I'm on meds for the rest of my life, it's not all that bad.
Have a good night. And good job on the exercise.

I hope you can figure out your leg/foot/back problems. Hopefully it is the meds and that will go away once the thyroid is dealt with.
Have a good walk or bike ride.
Corn bread over chocolate, brownies and cookies is a big win!!!
