My life has changed so much since I signed up to complete a Half Marathon in Feb 2013.
The training has taken me far beyond my former 3 mile max. As part of my training, I started to run/walking longer distances, with 11 miles being my longest distance so far.
I improved my consecutive running from 3.1 miles to 4 miles. During my last few 4 mile runs, I felt that I could keep running. So I decided to try a longer distance.
On Monday the 31st, I did a 2 mile walk/run warm up. Then I set out to run 6.2 miles. I gave my permission to stop anytime after 4.5 miles.
I didn't stop. By the end, I was super tired, but I did it. I ran 6.2 miles without stopping. The best part? I did it on the last day of 2012. This was not planned, but a nice perk.
I have now run an entire 10K course. I didn't do it fast, but I did it.
Every day I am getting slimmer, stronger, faster, and healthier. I love running!
