So my room mate who lives with my husband and I has decided he wants to lose weight, but he isnt an active person. so i am trying to help him through food. I know he should be active but he just isnt. He keeps to himself most of the time he is that type of personality. But he asked me what he needs to change. His typical day had consisted of sleeping during the day and staying up all night. Eating entire packs of snickers bars full size among other candy bars all at once. Going to the store and buying 6 headlight doughnuts and eating them all at once then for dinner ordering a stuffed crust meat lovers pizza. he has lived with us for almost 3 years and he has gained almost 100 pounds! but when he moved in with us he was underweight because he didnt eat at the place he was living at. he knows it isnt healthy for him to eat the way he was but he didnt know any other way and actually would laugh when i mentioned the foods he was eating. i personally think it was one of those laughs where he was embarrassed but didnt know what to say.
I have been helping him count his calories. the foods he has chosen to eat are actually alot lower in calories than what he usually eats so to him it seems like its alot more food. weighed his turkey and was shocked at how much he actually got to eat. I am hoping he sticks with it because he needs to for his health. he is also a smoker but has a hard time quitting because of underlying conditions it makes it harder for him to quit but he hates smoking and the way it makes him feel. he actually smokes less here than he did at his prior residence because he cannot smoke inside my house. so he is forced outside in the rain and snow.
makes me feel good to help someone. i will feel even better if he succeeds because then he will know that he can do stuff he thought to be impossble and i will know that i helped him do it too!
