Pity the Homeless!

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

It has cooled off a little here and I am having some difficulty getting used to it. I had to add several blankets to the bed and still was a little chilled. Went to walk the dogs yesterday and had to cut it short as I was too cool with only one shirt on. So I will adjust and no shorts till the weather gets up to speed. Pity the homeless!

I too am thinking about those with out a roof over their heads in this winter, I have been working with young woman who are staying in the only shelter in town, with a time limit of 30 days per year, when they exhaust the 30 days, they are on the streets, my clients are either pregnant or have small children. It is a very sad world we live in

I've been having to do all my walking indoors. Too damp and chilly out.

I used to go out twice a week with a homeless outreach ministry, even in the coldest weather. The shelters would fill up quickly, and the homeless huddled together where they could with blankets and a thin piece of cardboard between them and the cold cement. It changed my perspective on so many things.

It's chilly here too. I can't imagine living outside!

Whenever the weather turns cold I think of the homeless as well. I hope they can find a place to get out of the cold because I know how chilled I get and I have proper cold weather attire on.
