2012 "Best Ever"

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

At Christmas time this year my brother came up with the phrase 'best ever' and applied it to everything. So I ended the year with 'best ever' ringing in my ears and now I look for a phrase or motto for 2013.
Reflection back: I joined Sparks in Feb. of last year however I did not become an active participant until becoming a member on Spark coach and joining the Peak313 team. I've learned and even tried new activities such as taking adult swimming lessons. I set up a reward system from reading an article however I failed at carrying it through. So, one of my goals for 2013 is to continue to add a quarter in a jar for working out or doing strength training. When I've saved up enough, I plan to buy a Willow Tree musical couple that will go perfectly on my dining room shelf.
I failed at reaching the goal of doing a pull up by Christmas. Not sure if I will carry this goal over. I wanted a measurable goal of fitness yet I believe there are others goals that may take a higher priority at this point such as stretching or doing strength training on a regular basis.
One of my personal goals was not to waste my time at work since I have a lot of 'free' time. I no longer watch my little television. I am trying to be more disciplined with my time by planning my workouts for the week, clipping coupons, keeping my
e-mails files up to date (ie., deleting msgs.) and just taking the time to breath.
It is true, when you make changes in one area it spills over into other areas. Slowly I have taken small steps. Instead of 1 step forward and 2 steps back, I like 2 steps back and 1 step forward. I am focusing on the 1 step forward and not beating myself up for the setbacks.

I love your reward system! Actually putting money in a jar very much makes reaching a goal very motivational! Great ideas! Keep it up!
