Day One - Changing lanes.

I've been in the "rest area" on my journey over the past few weeks. Today I put my turn signal on and merged back into the slow lane and started making some progress. It's hard coming off the "food high" of the holidays. I resisted the church open house with it's homemade dutch donuts. We didn't go out to eat. I did "okay" as far as eating in range but my food choices were still too high on the glycemic index.

I did an hour on the elliptical which was good for me. In addition I worked around the house (not cardio minutes but additional activity which helps with the calorie burn). Tackling my 2013 goals I scheduled my monthly pickup from the local charity (tomorrow) and have 11 bags waiting on the front porch.

We got all the outside holiday decorations in the garage (will have to wait for warmer day to get them up in the loft). I've begun the process of taking down all the indoor decorations (big job).

Overall I give myself a B- for today's effort. I'm going to try to pull up my average tomorrow.

    Well put about "being in the rest area" over the holidays. I too am trying to merge back into the weight loss highway, but find it so hard now that am readjusted to big portions, high glycemic everything, etc.... I am following your lead, and will attempt to tail gate you today!! Nice job on the decluttering!! Woot!

I have my eating back obn track however not totally with the WW points yet however am certainly doing a lot better....looking for a loss when i WI next week....

    Love your analogy. I have to admit I have been at the rest stop too but I'm not sure if it's the same one you were at. They served such a variety of holiday treats at my stop which I just couldn't resist. Actually, I'll bet you were there but it sounds like you had much better self discipline and control than I did. Tomorrow I'm out of here and back on the road with you. Hanging around here hasn't been good for me.
Your efforts today are a shining example to me and the rest of us. No doubt tomorrow you'll receive that A you're reaching for.
