2013 -- On the Road to Onderland

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

It has been over a month since I blogged. I basically hit the wall right after my 100 Day Challenge. Many days I barely got through the day. I was exhausted, but I still had a lot to do to get ready for Christmas. Exercise and logging basically went out the window. I did log onto SP and kept my streak going, but I didn't do as much as I used to. Unfortunately, and I am embarrassed to this, I ended up gaining and am only 2 pounds away from my heaviest weight.

I have been reading a couple of books: "The Core Balance Diet" and "Are You Tired and Wired?" both are written by Marcelle Pick. She has a website ...
www.womentowomen.com Both books deal when hormonal imbalance. The symptoms listed are so much like what I have been experiencing. I think I might have some adrenal fatigue. I am going to follow her advice and try to get back on track.

I am ready to start anew and lose what I gained and more. My big goal for this year is to reach Onederland!

I am going to keep things simple right now...

Daily Goals:
1) Blog -- this was good for me to keep me accountable
2) Exercise at least 10 minutes. (I used to do up to 120 min, but one of the things I learned from the book plus some articles on SP, that I might have been pushing things)
3) Eat at least 3 freggies a day...I know this is something I struggle with and something I need to do. Keep me accountable!!!

I just started the hormone balancing program from womentowomen.com. Today's the third day of taking the supplements and the second day of eating based on their guidelines. I just added you as a friend. If you'd like someone to work on this with or want another friend, feel free to add me back. emoticon

Have you had your Dr. Check hormones, etc with blood tests? Might be a good plan, since you are having chronic fatigue! Heard Dr. Oz give a good thyroid level test. Keep digital thermometer by your bed, and take your temp each morning BEFORE you get out of bed. He said if it is under 98 consistently, you probably have low thyroid. Might be a test you want to run.

Stupid hormones! I know mine have caused problems for me too, with fatigue and not letting go of the weight. I will check out the website you listed here, and wish you MUCH success getting to the bottom of your problems... if at first we don't succeed, we try again! emoticon

You can do it. I understand about how life gets in the way of Sparking. At night I have just a few hours and I was crochet a quilt for my sister-in-law. Well I can not type and crochet at the same time.

This year you can get to onerland.

Carrie, just don't give up. I went on "break" too and my goal for 2013 is to have a good loss for the year.

If you have a chance to look at Practical Paleo or Whole 9/Whole 30, they both have some very informative information on cleansing and re-setting your body. I just finished my first Whole 30, and getting ready to start my next 30 days with new goals. I lost 3 pounds over the last 30 days, even with traveling, the holidays and little to no exercise due to the ankle/leg injuries; am sleeping better, and my cravings are going away. Hoping that I'm on to something and that the next 30 days will continue to conquer the cravings.

I hope you can find the reason for your fatigue and have a better year! You do seem to burn the candle at both ends! Good luck with your goals! emoticon
