New Year and New Changes

I have been on and off spark since I stumbled upon it in 2008. I have had several accounts, but I have kept this one since I created it in 2010. I have problems with motivation so I tend to start off strong, but eventually fizzle out and poof.

I decided that I was going to wait until after the holidays to try to lose weight. So here I am, again. I keep trying so I'm hoping that one day I will stay motivated and keep at it.

I think that the only time I post a blog it's to say that here I am again.

Over the several months I've noticed that my weight is slowly creeping upwards and that I am having heartburn more frequently. I know a majority of my triggers and try to aoid them. Lately though, it seems that I am finding new triggers. New foods that are setting my heartburn off that never had before. I am pretty sure that it is due to the slow weight gain.

In all honesty I was planning on starting this coming Monday. I was going to start fresh, and not feel like I had the 'New Year's Resolution' lable on. I had already discussed it with hubby over dinner the past Friday night.

This morning while my muffins were cooking, I decided to go ahead and reset my goals. I also thought I would go ahead and start tracking my food, even tough I knew most of what was already planned would be over the daily goals. 'Why not go ahead and get used to doing it?' I thought. So I did. This will help when I plan our meals & grocery list for next week.

I think my 2 biggest challenges are motivation and exercise.
I am going to try to find ways to stay motivated and I know I can always visit the Spark for motivation help as well.
Exercise on the other hand is a little more difficult. The only time I can do a DVD would be on the off days that I'm the only one home. We can't afford to join a gym even though we both (hubby & I) would like to. I tried in the past to get up earlier in the mornings to do a DVD, but when I normally get up at 5am it is extremely difficult to get up at 4:30 am. It really threw a disturbance in my sleep schedule so I had to stop.
This time I am going to try to start off with something simple. Taking family walks around the neighborhood. I would like to start tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

  Sounds like you are off to a good start! Totally agree with doing a walk around the hood - my fitness was kicked up several notches when I started to ride my bikek to work instead of driving the car/ I found that I liked functional exercise - stuff that got me somewhere, had some kind of purpose. You might find that helps too -
