January 1, 2013--Starting over again--AGAIN!!

Another year is starting. Another chance for a do-over. I love New Year's Day, and I love SP for having so many resources available to us. It's just a matter of staying on track, once and for all......

I haven't done nearly as much activity-wise as I would like to have done. No excuses, just an inherent laziness and ability to be easily distracted. Plus--I hate to sweat because it takes me forever to cool back down to a normal temperature!! Must look for information about this....

I recently talked with a friend that I hadn't seen in several months--she had lost quite a bit of weight and looks AMAZING!! She asked me if I had kept up with my bike riding, and I told her that I hadn't, but recently bought a dual trainer (combination elliptical/exercise bike) and am enjoying using it. I mentioned something like "I should sign up for a 5k", and she told me about the Las Vegas Color Run, and that she and a few of our other friends were doing this in February. I went ahead and signed up for it--it's February 16!!! OhmiGOSH!! That's a month and a half away!! Good thing this is non-competitive. or I would be in BIG trouble!! So, looks like I am committed to this....

I am also committing to a few other things. SP is an amazing community of wonderful, encouraging people--plus great information and tracking devices for us to gauge our progress. I am committing to being a better me in 2013! A year from today:

emoticon I want to be at or near the weight I was when I got married (somewhere in the neighborhood of 150#!)

emoticon I would like to be able to quit my high-cholesterol medicine!

I am committing to exercising on my days off of work. Zumba, dual trainer, walking, riding, whatever! 30 minutes is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things!!

There may be a few more things added to this, but I have to start somewhere!

    Hang in there! It's one step at a time! You can do that 5K! At least it will be warmer in Vegas than here.

    emoticon PLEASE Keep Us Informed about The Vegas Color Run! I did the one in Oklahoma City last Summer and it was TON Of FUN! If at all possible, Take Camera because people will be dressed up in so many Colorful Outfits that it is hard to describe.
