My entire mission for 2013 is to get fit by exercising and today I got started by walking a mile with Leslie, on Walk Away the Pounds. It was about 15 degrees outside, too cold for me! So I did my exercise inside. After the walk with Leslie, which was HARD, I took a more gentle walk with my dog, but only for 15 minutes because I was afraid we'd both freeze!
The walk with Leslie was do-able, left me breathless at points but not too hard. Also, I had originally planned to do 2 miles but it was enough of a challenge that I stopped on one.
I am going to do strengthening exercises too, and I pledge to myself and to you that I won't go to bed without doing them. =)
OK--I took a break and went and did the strengthening exercises, so neither of us have to worry about whether or not I'll get it done lol
I did 13 of each:
--squats with the ball
--step up, step down's
It was HARD. I only did one set of my 7 exercises for Tuesday, and I am totally out of breath. I think its more because of my lungs being compressed by fat than by the workout being hard. Also, the really hard part was moving my heavy self around. I can barely get back up, when I am down on the floor. THIS is why fitness is my goal this year.
Also, I drank my water today (8 cups) and tracked all my food, and kept it within my calorie range which is 1400 to 1600 calories. I got in 7 servings of fruit and veggies today. =)
I think the New Year is off to a great start!!
