Just reflecting, on how much things have changed in the three years.

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

I just finished registering for AF marathon; this year it will be my 3rd year to run it. But what is REALLY amazing is my wife will be doing AFM half for 2nd time this year. AND my daughter is going to do her first marathon. The AFM is turning out to be family affair.
It's hard to believe that just four years ago I was telling my daughter my running days were over, and now three years later Ive run 6 full marathons and dozen marathons, and have lost count of 10Ks.
I say this not to get people to run marathon, but to let people know you can do so much if you just decide to.
Im not what I call super star of Spark, (people who lose 100+ lb), at most I lost 50lb, but boy did it change my life. For me Spark was all about get more control of my life, I was fighting a losing battle with high blood pressure when I started Spark. I tried for three years to get a handle on the HBP before my daughter signed me up on Spark. With a LOT of re-education on eating, and as side-effect losing weight, I was off my HBP medicine within 9 months of starting Spark. To me that is my success, taking control of my health.
I wish everyone the best on your journey, whatever it maybe.
