Not even a full day into the new year and I already made a really awesome healthy choice! Instead of having a dinner of chips and guacamole (which I thought I really wanted), I threw together a salad using some shrimp and black beans that needed to be used up. Yay! My mom came up this afternoon for pork and sauerkraut, and I *know* I ate more than I should have at lunch. I made some awesome mashed potatoes and some really good buttermilk cornbread. But instead of throwing away the whole day by eating chips for dinner, I made myself something better. I won't even feel bad about eating a piece of shoo-fly pie for a sweet a little later!
My gym was closed today, but I went for two little walks anyway. I guess I'm a little superstitious - what you do today, you do for the rest of the year. So I got off my rear and went around our neighborhood loop (it's about 1/2 a mile). My thought was that if I made excuses as to why I couldn't go for a walk, I'd be making excuses all year. My mom and I went for a little walk after lunch too.
Good things about today:
- I'm on track to drink all my water
- I wrote down all the food I ate
- Went for two little walks
- Made a salad instead of chips and dip for dinner
- Came up with some resolutions.
- It's my four-year Sparkaversary today!
