Welcoming in the New Year I got my rest did my Classical Stretch this am and am still celebrating mindfully. I didn't have a chance to meditate yet, but will. Thankfully I have found some meditations that work for me. I've posted them before and will list my favs yet again. I keep exploring to find new meditations.
Among the things on my ipod are from Kripalu Yoga Break:

~Breathing and Relaxation - Jurian Hughes
~Guided Relaxation - Jurian Hughes
Those are my favorites and I listen to these while waiting for Dr appts.

This past fall Deepak Chopra did a 21 day meditation challenge, he suggested making meditation a daily routine like brushing your teeth.
After meditation, Deepak Chopra would ask his children to repeat the following:
I am responsible for what I see
I choose the feelings I experience
And set the goals I will achieve.
Everything that seems to happen to me
I ask for and receive as I have asked.

I have found the mediation to have a calming effect on me and helps reduce my stress level, therefore my blood pressure. :) Also knowing that I choose my reactions helps me realize that it is I that chooses to be tense, happy, annoyed, whatever. So now I take a deep breath and say "oh well" to many things and just move forward. (works really well on husbands) Speaking of him he does say I am calmer since I started practicing daily meditation.
I also make time daily for some fun in my life. Something to put a smile on my face. Solving a sudoku, calling a friend, etc,
I wish you all a wonderful New Year.
